Position: Shop Fabrication Manager
Location: St. John’s, NL
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Shop Fabrication Manager is responsible for managing and directing operational activities of the fabrication facility and to direct and coordinate activities of unionized shop technicians as well as non-union staff.
The successful candidate will require a Post-Secondary education in Welding Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Technology. Alternatively, the candidate can be a certified Red Seal Journeyman certification for CWB and ASME or equivalent with a proven track record. Experience with at least 5 - 10 years of experience in a Management role, or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Must have proven experience in structural steel and process piping fabrication from processing the raw material to final product. Successful candidate should have a good understanding of different fabrication techniques and a keen focus on constructability and execution of all work to ensure maximum through-put, efficiency, time management and other project goals.
The successful candidate will be results oriented, have an attention to detail and a commitment to safe work practices and ISO 9001:2008 QA/QC processes. In addition, the successful candidate should have excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
